Cluster of Slyness
« on: April 11, 2012, 08:04:08 PM »
Have you ever been a part of groups where there was a "Cluster of Slyness"?  Well, this morning, I was at Starbucks for a men's Bible study.  There is usually two of us Sly guys.  But a new guy that started going to my church joined us.  I invited him.  But he is 29 but rocks the Sly look.    But this morning it was 3 Sly guys vs. 2 not Sly.  But it is not the first such group where there was a "Cluster of Slyness"  A few years ago, I lead another men's Bible study when I was at another church.  In that group, we had started with 4 Sly guys and 3 non Sly.  But it ended up being 50-50.  So let's hear your "Cluster of Slyness" stories!

I'm a senior moderator on a technical forum. Last year, a lot of the staffers were asked to speak at a tech symposium in Las Vegas. On the first evening of the conference, the early-arrivers gathered at a cafe right off the main lobby of Caesars Palace (where the conference was being held and where we were staying).

Here's a photo:

Three sly guys and one who should be.

[Aside: represented at this table: Germany, the US, Canada, and Australia.]

SlyBear.  As an Aussie I hope the Australian in the picture was one of the other sly men.  Yes a couple of others could do with a head shave.

Yeah, I'm seeing three who probably should be.

The Canadian's an odd one. I tried to by a book (non-technical) from him once. He ended up reversing my PayPal payment and sending me three copies instead of one. Maybe bald guys just don't know how to sell books.

(This was before recent revelations in the US media regarding the topic of the book.)

Is 'cluster' the correct collective noun ?

How about a 'dome' of slyness or a 'shininess' of slyness ?
