Hi from a newbie...
« on: October 22, 2008, 06:58:33 PM »
... hope you guys will forgive me but i'm not a sly yet, am losing my hair fast tho, and by my estimation will only be a few more weeks before , in my own eyes, i have no choice haha I've really struggled with the thought of losing my hair since I started thinning at 23, been through the 5 typical stages of mourning, denial, anger, bargaining (was interesting  :px), a long depression, and just recently, on the verge of acceptance. Lurking here for a few weeks has really helped establish a new found confidence in going bald and I know now what I have to do... shave it all off. It is short now, grade 2, but not short enough... i'm gearing up for the full monty. I'm just cherishing the final weeks as i know in my heart that once i've done it, its done for good!!!

Anyways, just an initial hey, and how ya doing?

Dax

P.s. should point out that the light in that pic hides the true story  ;)

Welcome, Dax.   Being in a holding pattern, when you know you're going to shave soon, you're just not sure exactly when, can be torturous.  The sooner you can get it over with, the better.  You'll be surprised at how much better you'll feel once you've done it.  It's very liberating.

It may feel like you've only got a few weeks, but in all likelihood, you have much longer than that.  I felt the same way at one point.  I was waiting to lose more hair before I took the plunge. Eventually I got frustrated because it was happening too slowly, so I just went ahead and did it.  You can grow it back to a #2 within two weeks -- so it isn't a one way journey, yet.

One reaction we hear over and over again from guys who have just taken the plunge is "why didn't I do this sooner?", so don't drive yourself crazy by continuing to put off the inevitable.  There is life after hair, and in most cases, it's a much better one. ;)

Welcome Dax.  I am BBC (bald by choice) but I can empathize with you.
You will find a lot of great guys here that have been where you are.  They can help you get through this easily and with a great deal of humor!

Have fun and enjoy life.  It's just hair!

Welcome to SBG Dax.....great to have you aboard!!    O0

Like the guys have said, the longer you go the more you torture yourself. Just about everyone who ends up shaving wonders why they waited so long.

Just do the deed bro and you'll be happy that you did....and don't forget to post that new pic of the sly dome.....good luck bro..... ;)
